Lyrics

I never wanted to just give in
No, not til today
You’d be this blue
If everything you had was always ripped away
And you can say “Yes, I know it’s hard”
But you don’t
Cause you never had to live this way

And I’m so sick of losing
But I’m so good at losing
I’m gonna smile til the curtain comes down
Crowd shuffles out
And muffles the sound of people sighing
The show’s left town
And everybody’s going home
Except me, cause I got no place to go

I never thought my life’d depend
On hope dangled from a string
It seems so cruel
That you watch without doing anything
Take your photograph
Get your shot
Did it capture all my pain

But I’m so sick of losing
But I’m so good at losing
I’m gonna smile til the curtain comes down
Crowd shuffles out
And muffles the sound of people sighing
The show’s left town
And everybody’s going home
Except me, cause I got no place to go

And I’m so sick of losing
I’m so sick of losing
But I’m so good at losing
I’m gonna smile til the curtain comes down
Crowd shuffles out
And muffles the sound of people sighing
The show’s left town
And everybody’s going home
Except me, cause I got no place to go

About the song

This is one of our long forgotten tracks. We started writing "Sick of Losing" around 2006 after watching the footage from hurricane Katrina. We watched the media circus show up at a disaster to document and profit from people's suffering. Then as the public lost interest we watched them pack up and leave the suffering behind. The song sat unfinished for years until we finally recorded it in 2012 as a prize for our Kickstarter donors who helped us print our 3rd album "Just When You Thought You'd Never Smile Again".
The song sat again forgotten for another decade after that until this official release in 2024
